AI or Nah? is a Chrome extension that analyzes text on web pages to detect whether it was written by a human or generated by AI. This policy explains what data we handle, how we use it, and what we don't do with it.
When you activate the extension and click on a post to analyze it, the extension extracts visible text from that post and sends it to our server for analysis. This text is used solely to determine whether the content was written by a human or an AI.
We collect no personally identifiable information. Specifically:
Text blocks are sent to our proxy server, which forwards them to the Anthropic API (Claude Haiku model) for classification. Anthropic's data handling is governed by Anthropic's Privacy Policy. We do not send any page metadata, your identity, or browser information alongside the text.
The extension stores no data in your browser (no cookies, no local storage, no
chrome.storage usage). Our server retains no logs of content or user activity
beyond the ephemeral rate-limit counter described above.
We use the following third-party services:
This extension is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect information from children.
If we make material changes to this policy, we will update the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of the extension after changes constitutes acceptance.
